My Milla Vodello Cosplay photoset has arrived! Happy Day, my psychos! 
Here I will talk about some details of the costume and my cosplay experience.
Why I Cosplayed Milla Vodello:
I absolutely had my heart set on SOMETHING Psychonauts, and really I had a lot to choose from! The obvious Razputin, (which would be a really hot costume,) Lili Zanotto, (which would be a really cold costume,) Milla Vodello, (only my third favorite character,) or a Group of G-Men (which I would still really love to do. But that requires extra people. XD)
When interviewing friends, the popular vote kept landing on Milla. It made sense seeing as how it most fit my body type. And while I believe in cosplaying whatever you want despite what you happen to look like, I still tend to lean towards characters that suit me.
I was very much looking forward to trying new things, such as the crazy makeup. Wow. (My eyelashes, by the way, were made out of feathers.) Another new thing was Milla’s mannerism and body language. The simplified/blunt version being ‘sexy’, which I have never done before, as it’s not particularly my thing. But it was fun being different and being different is fun. Isn’t that what cosplay is all about?
The Costume:
As you could probably gather from my description on the Dress Painting WIP^, the making of this dress was not fun. At all. I hope that I don’t make something this stupidly painful again. 3 days. 8 hours shifts. Hot sun to after midnight in the dark.
I hope I can at least learn from this and perhaps other cosplayers can learn from it, too. My advice? If you want to cosplay something similar to this, (i.e. colors over large surface of fabric,) do not use fabric spray paint. Hand paint it. Spray paint is very sloppy and expensive.
The Convention:
One of the struggles of making a costume from something obscure that you’re going to wear publicly (besides the obvious) is this: Not wanting to bother making it super accurate because no one will recognize you VS wanting to make it as accurate as possible so that you are easier to recognize. XP The struggle is real.
Although, yeah, basically no one recognized me at the convention, I still got amazing compliments on my dress and my crazy makeup! Definitely a reason I encourage even normies to try a convention: You may not recognize any of the costumes, but they sure do look cool!
On the other hand, I had a lot of Psychonauts artwork at my art table, and THAT some people recognized! When people pointed at my prints exclaiming “Psychonauts!”, I would adorably point at myself and look bashful. This of course led to the occasional opportunities for me to pose! But overall it was amazing to find that there are more Psychonauts fans than I could have predicted! It just takes a little bit of bringing up the topic to bring out my fellow psychos! 
The Photoshoot:
Got together with my sister 
and my photographer 
and went out of town to a beautiful forest area with gardens and other little sets. I had a few poses in mind, Silver had a few poses in mind, and we just went with it.
This was the first time I had done a full on photo shoot with any of my cosplays. It was a lot of fun, but I was really afraid of getting my costume dirty. It was fine for the most part, hehe. Got into some fun poses, some sultry-ish poses, some awkward poses…. The whole bit. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun.
Hope to do more photoshoots with future costumes. Here’s hoping.
